SA COMPANY SUPPLIES ACCESS EQUIPMENT TO WADE WALKER FOR THE TENKE FUNGURUME COPPER-COBALT MINE PROJECT IN THE DRC

Eazi Sales and Service, based in Midrand, have been contracted by Wade Walker to supply access equipment destined for a new copper mine project based in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Wade Walker, a subsidiary of Murray and Roberts Ltd, have purchased Upright AB50 and AB60 17 and 20 metre diesel boom lifts, as well as two JLG4394’s 15 metre diesel scissor lifts.

The access equipment will be utilised for the installation of all the electrical and instrumentation requirements on the Tenke Copper-Cobalt Mine. The Tenke Fungurume copper-cobalt deposits comprise one of the world’s largest known copper-cobalt resources. The deposits are located in the Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The mining project is a partnership led by Freeport-McMoran Copper and Gold, the Lundin Mining Corporation and the Government of the Democratic Republic.

Wade Walker Project Manager, Roger Spencer said “The machines from Eazi Sales and Service enable us to speed up the installation of racking and cabling at the plant in a safe and efficient manner. If we had not gone the boom lift route we would have to have used scaffolding. The boom lifts give us ease of manoeuvrability, greater safety and requires less operational personnel, which in turn reduces the potential for accidents. I have been impressed with the professional service and on-site knowledge that Eazi offers its customers and will certainly continue to use the company for future projects”.
