EAZI ACCESS NOW ACCREDITED TRAINING PROVIDER

The Services Seta has been proactive, in conjunction with appropriate professional bodies, in establishing the criteria for the training of Access Platforms mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) operators. Access Platforms bring significant gains in productivity, safety and cost savings provided they are operated correctly, and as a result of the need within industry to have training of MEWP operators standardised, the Services Seta has appointed Eazi Access – one of South Africa’s largest suppliers of access machinery – an Accredited Training Provider for the training of demonstrators for MEWP operators, making the company one of the first in South Africa to achieve this accreditation status.

Chad Pope, Director at Eazi Access said, “Our leading industry clients are driving the use of Access Platforms in their organisations primarily due to the safety and productivity gains realised by the effective use of our MEWPs. With this in mind we focus heavily on brining these savings to our customers. Training of effective operators is central to this drive.”

“It is with these considerations in mind that Eazi Access embraced the new training regulations and embarked upon obtaining their Accreditation as a Training Provider as soon as the criterion was in place. Eazi Access therefore is accredited to train in the following three unit standards:

• 243272: operation of a mobile industrial work platform
• 243276: management of transportation of mobile elevated work platforms
• 243273: monitoring and controlling the safety and operations of mobile elevating work platforms

“Eazi Access already has 25 licensed demonstrators in place to assist MEWP operators in their training of working and handling access machinery correctly and safely. It is essential that our customers, and others, receive the correct instruction on how to manage our access machinery to the benefit of all involved. I believe our ability to offer accredited training gives us a major competitive edge in terms of safety and informed machinery operation which can only be of benefit to our customers. This is an achievement that Eazi Access is incredibly proud of” said Pope.
